The eruption of deciduous teeth is a physiological process. Most babies do not suffer from what discomfort, but some babies may suffer from dysphoria, easy crying, love to bite, increased drooling, loss of appetite or slight diarrhea, slight allergy and other phenomena, which are normal.
Parents often say that the baby will have fever during the process of teething, and even some babies will have fever every time they grow a new deciduous tooth within a certain period of time. However, does teething really cause fever?
In fact, there is no direct relationship between fever and tuskiness. Because the body temperature will rise a little bit when tuskiness is long, but the average rise value is very small, about 0.12 ℃ for ear temperature rise and 0.01 ℃ for axillary temperature rise, which is far from fever (because the body temperature will fluctuate during the day, the fluctuation range does not exceed 1 ℃, and the rise exceeds 1 ℃ is considered fever.)
Since teething itself does not cause fever, why does the baby have fever during teething? This may be related to the baby’s love of biting things during teething, such as unclean fingers or other hard objects, which is easy to lead to inflammatory reactions in gums or oral mucosa and other parts, and this inflammatory reaction is not serious, so fever is mostly low fever, generally below 38 ℃, and the duration is not long.
Fever is not only caused by tusks, Not every tusk will appear, not every baby will have tusks. If the fever exceeds 38 ℃ and the baby looks very painful, or accompanied by runny nose, cough, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms, especially the baby’s mental state is not good, it may be fever caused by other diseases (such as infection, etc.), and it is recommended to take the baby to see a doctor.
