There is a saying how to say: Life is so sad, just like washing Eva’s hair.
Why is the baby afraid of washing his hair when he loves bathing?
Cry as soon as you wash your hair, that cruelty to your heart. Washing your head is like fighting a war! How can I wash my baby’s hair smoothly?
Today, parenting consultant Tang Wei wants to share some tips with mothers to help them solve the trouble of washing their babies’ hair.
Most babies like to play with water. The reason why they do not want to wash their hair may be that they have had uncomfortable experiences.
For example, when washing hair, water splashes into eyes or ears; The water pressure is too high, causing head discomfort. The water temperature is too high or too low, causing the baby to be scalded or frozen … These uncomfortable feelings will make the baby afraid to wash his hair.
Mothers need to do these five things to make their babies willing to wash their hair.
1. The water temperature and pressure should be adjusted properly.
Mothers must not turn on the faucet and wash it. Remember to adjust the appropriate water temperature and pressure before washing the baby’s hair.
After opening the nozzle, try it on the inside of your arm first. When the water temperature is appropriate and there is no tingling sensation during the shower, you can wash your baby’s hair.
If the water pressure in the shower head at home is too high, you can choose to wash your baby’s hair with cups, sponges or even watering cans.
2. Shampoo posture is very important,
To wash the baby’s hair under the age of 1, the mother can let the baby lie on the leg, hold the baby’s head and wash the baby’s hair face to face. Pay attention to protect the baby’s auricle with your palm and gently pour clear water on the hair.
This shampoo posture can let the baby see the mother and predict the next actions to be taken by the mother, thus reducing fear and insecurity.
When the baby is older and inconvenient to pick up, you can choose the shampoo chair. Let the baby lie on the shampoo chair, just like we wash our hair in the shampoo shop.
3. Take good care of your eyes and ears.
When washing your hair, your mother should pay attention to the gentle, soft and slow movements to prevent shampoo or clear water from entering your eyes or ears.
Of course, we can also choose a special shampoo cap or swimming mirror for children to keep the water from the eyes and ears to avoid discomfort to the baby.
4. Communicate more with your baby
During the shampoo process, mothers can communicate more with their babies. For example:
Is the water hot?
Is Mom comfortable?
After washing your head, bacteria and dust will be washed away!
… …
These words can shift the baby’s attention to [the benefits of shampooing], and the baby will slowly ignore discomfort and cooperate more with his mother.
5. Games Make Shampoo Fun
Two kinds of shampoo games are recommended: one is to practice shampoo games and the other is to play parent-child games when shampoo.
The game of practicing shampoo is to simulate the process of shampoo with the baby. Parents can wash the baby first, then encourage the baby to wash himself, or let the baby wash dolls, etc.
In the process of simulation, explain to the baby why what is being done in every step, which helps to reduce the baby’s fear and resistance to shampoo.
There are more tricks for parent-child games. You can make foam-filled hair into various shapes, sing nursery rhymes, absorb water with sponges and then spit water.
The game makes shampoo interesting, so the baby will naturally not be so afraid of shampoo.
