We sometimes find that a little red dot suddenly grows on a piece of skin on our body, which is especially prominent.
I went to the hospital to ask the doctor, but I was told that this is [vascular nevus], also known as [senile vascular nevus], which is not a big problem in what.
But how can people in their twenties get sick? Is your body unhealthy and aging prematurely?
This time Dr. Clove asked Dr. Yu Xi from the dermatology department to talk about whether the vascular nevus is what.
What is a vascular nevus?
Vascular nevus is actually caused by dilation of capillaries or arterioles on the skin surface and may appear on any part of the skin surface, including face, neck, trunk and limbs.
How did this kind of thing grow for no reason?
There is no final conclusion on the causes of vascular nevus. At present, there are two mainstream views:
- Because skin local capillaries or arterioles appear hyperplasia, and then gradually formed by distal expansion. With the increase of age, connective tissue around blood vessels degenerates, causing relatively weak around blood vessels. Under the stimulation of friction, scratching and trauma, blood vessels are further damaged to form vasodilation, and blood filling is formed at the vasodilation.
What? [As you get older]? ! But I am still a baby! Doctor, you stop, you tell me clearly!
Vascular nevus indicates aging?
Ann, although vascular nevus is also called [senile vascular nevus] or even [old deformed hemangioma], the name seems to be closely related to [old age] [aging], but the two are not closely related, not to say that you are old.
The reason why it is called “senile vascular nevus” is actually due to the incomplete development of medicine at the time of naming.
In the early years, people’s understanding of vascular nevus was incomplete. Because [vascular nevus] showed the most obvious characteristics in the elderly, people at that time thought it was a symptom that only occurred in the elderly, so they named it after it.
However, with the progress of medical technology, more and more young people are found in clinical practice, and the so-called “senile hemangioma” will also appear, which proves that the disease is not unique to the elderly.
Current medical research shows that children may have vascular nevus around the age of 10, but vascular nevus will show a faster growth trend after the age of 30, with more and more numbers and gradually higher than the skin surface, and obvious hemispheric small tumors may form in old age.
Does the presence of vascular nevus indicate physical illness?
This is sheer nonsense.
Some viewpoints believe that the occurrence of vascular nevus means that the nearby organs have pathological changes.
Although there is still debate on the specific cause of vascular nevus, no matter what kind of explanation, it cannot prove that the occurrence of vascular nevus is related to the pathological changes of internal organs.
Can vascular nevus be removed?
Of course.
Early treatment mainly includes electrocautery, freezing and laser cautery, but the pain is obvious during treatment, and the recovery period after treatment is slightly longer, which may produce pigmentation or scar.
At present, there are some common minimally invasive or non-invasive laser treatments, such as pulsed dye laser specially aimed at blood vessels. According to the different conditions of vascular nevus, the general treatment for 1-3 times can almost achieve the effects of sealing blood vessels, restoring smooth skin surface and uniform color.
Do you need to pay special attention to what in case of vascular nevus?
No, it’s time to eat, play and sleep.
However, if the vascular nevus grows up rapidly in a short period of time, or grows in a position that affects the appearance, you can choose to seek medical treatment as soon as possible. After all, while it is still small, the number of treatments is less and the effect is better.
If we must pay attention to what, it is not to confuse vascular moles with spider moles.
Spider nevus is also the skin surface blood vessel expansion, in the middle of it has obvious needle tip to bean grain size red blood vessels, like spider body, bifurcated around, like spider web. Spider nevus generally appears in the upper body, as few as a few, as many as hundreds.
Spider nevus may be related to hormone level and sun-induced vasodilation, and sometimes it can also indicate liver function status. For example, [palm erythema], also known as [liver palm], which often occurs in liver disease diagnosis. If it occurs at the same time as spider nevus, it is necessary to seek medical treatment in time.
However, if it is a simple spider nevus, it does not look beautiful, and the treatment method is basically the same as that of vascular nevus.
