You may have heard such a saying:
There are toxins in menstruation. Menstruation every month is a process of detoxification.
The big aunt was already in trouble enough, but it was still poisonous? !
This time, Dr. Clove invited Dr. Ying Jun from Obstetrics and Gynecology to talk about this topic.
Don’t come to menstruation, can’t [detoxify]?
Two years ago, when I was an attending physician in the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology, a patient like this was admitted to the clinic:
The 38-year-old woman did not menstruate for two consecutive months after undergoing abortion. After preliminary examination in the outpatient department, it was found that she may have intrauterine adhesions.
Is this what’s problem?
Our uterus, uh, no, is your uterus (the state of a male gynecologist, after a long time, I feel that I should also have a uterus …), just like a thick-skinned pie:
- On the outside is the myometrium, which is also covered with a smooth layer of serosa, just like the thick skin of a pie. On the inside, the inner wall of the skin is evenly attached with a layer of endometrium, just like the stuffing of a pie.
This endometrium, Is the birthplace of menstruation. If for some reason, such as abortion, curettage and other uterine cavity surgery, endometrial tuberculosis, etc., the basal layer of the endometrium is scraped off or gnawed off, the upper and lower myometrium has lost the middle interlayer, just like the pie with stuffing removed, the upper and lower dough will stick together, this is uterine cavity adhesion.
As a result, the above patient’s symptoms appeared: no menstruation.
The situation is clear, and everyone must think that not coming to menstruation is a great problem. We have to do everything possible to get her to come. We have to have surgery, hysteroscopy, separate adhesions, let the intima grow up again, and resume menstruation…
However, after understanding the patient’s condition, our director Li made a decision that shocked the patient: no surgery was needed, especially when he learned that the patient did not feel any discomfort and had no need to have children again.
?
This question calls out the heartfelt wishes of many women: menstruation requires [detoxification]! Otherwise, toxins will accumulate and people will age fast!
Of course, the patient thought the same thing at the beginning, but after our lovely Director Li explained in detail, she dispelled her worries and did not have an operation. She was happily discharged from the hospital and returned home the next morning.
Yes, in the eyes of the director of reproductive endocrinology experts, menstruation also has no [detoxification] function!
There are some what in menstruation?
There is no poison anyway.
The ovary experiences periodic changes of follicular development, ovulation and atrophy after corpus luteum formation every month. With this periodic change, the endometrium will also undergo periodic shedding and bleeding, which is menstruation.
In addition to blood, menstruation also includes endometrial fragments, inflammatory cells, cervical mucus and exfoliated vaginal epithelial cells.
STEP 1 Blood
It is the hemorrhage caused by the rupture of small blood vessels after the endometrium falls off, just like the normal blood flowing in the blood vessels of our whole body. There is no crane top red, no ten fragrant soft tendons powder, and no poison of what’s love flowers.
No matter how much or how little (), bright red or dark red (), with or without blood clots (), it is only blood.
If bleeding can [detoxify], wouldn’t it prolong your life to go to the hospital from time to time to draw two tubes of blood?
2. Endometrial fragments
Is the shed endometrium. Endometrium is a hotbed for pregnant fetuses. Embryos are implanted on the endometrium. Of course, there will be no what toxin. Otherwise, wouldn’t we all lie on the poison bed before birth?
3. Inflammatory cell
It sounds a bit scary, but it’s just the name. In fact, there are a lot of white blood cells and lymphocytes in our blood and tissues, not [inflamed cells].
4. Cervical mucus and exfoliated vaginal epithelial cells
It’s just a little silt that is taken away from the river during the bloodstream.
So as you can see, there is not a trace of toxin discharged from menstruation. Since there is no poison, of course there is no need to spend money on what [detoxification] products.
Then why do people age after menopause?
Since menstruation does not detoxify, why do postmenopausal women obviously age?
Wrong! Logic is wrong!
What really keeps women young is the two normal ovaries (). Menstruation is also due to normal periodic changes in the ovaries. When the ovaries are old and fail, the endometrium does not thicken or bleed periodically, and menopause occurs.
So the correct statement should be:
When you are old, your menstruation is not coming, you are sleepy and drowsy, when you are old, you cannot walk, you keep warm by the fire, and you recall your youth, how many people have loved your beauty, hypocrisy or sincerity when you were young and happy… ()
Menstruation does not [detoxify] ≠ does not come menstruation also fine
Returning to the previous patient. The operation caused her to adhere to the uterine cavity and lose her menstruation, but her ovarian function was not bad (how do I know? Because she was still pregnant and had an abortion), because her ovaries were still working normally, her physical condition was not affected, and there was no accumulation of [toxins] in her body.
If she has to undergo surgery, she will have to face unnecessary surgery and anesthesia risks. Moreover, if intrauterine adhesion is serious and the operation effect is not good, it is easy to re-adhere after operation, or menstruation is a little bit after operation.
Without menstruation, menopause will not bleed intermittently, which is convenient.
The only problem is that she can’t get pregnant. But she didn’t have any birth requirements, which is just right. Even contraception is saved and she can do whatever she wants (shame). Hmm? The only problem has become a benefit.
After such an analysis, she finally dispelled her concern that she could not detoxify without menstruation and avoided unnecessary surgery.
Of course, it is not to encourage everyone to have an abortion and curettage, so that the uterine cavity can adhere and not menstruate. If you read this meaning, I can only say…
Although menstruation does not [detoxify], not all cases of not coming menstruation have no effect on the body. In addition to intrauterine adhesion, other diseases may also lead to menopause and amenorrhea. In other words, if menstruation does not come, you still need to see a doctor and treat him differently according to the cause of the disease.
This popular science is that menstruation does not [detoxify], not that menstruation does not matter.
