Before June arrived, the temperature in many places had already jumped to 30 ℃, and ultraviolet rays were becoming more and more toxic.
When walking their babies in this weather, many mothers will habitually do one action:
Put a small blanket and coat over the stroller.
Such a casual little trick, mothers think it is [caring for the baby], but in fact it is putting the baby in great danger with their own hands.
Perhaps you will ask: How dangerous can a small blanket be to shade the sun and the wind?
Mother Clove did a small experiment. After reading it, you will know that it is not sensational.
Can covering the baby carriage really [shade the sun and enjoy the cool]?
< < Swedish Daily > > once did an experiment.
In the hot sun, the stroller was covered with blankets, and the temperature inside the stroller rose by 15 ℃ in one hour.
Of course, the vast majority of parents do not take their children and travel in the hot sun for a long time.
So we chose such a day and conducted a simulation experiment:
- The shooting time was 10 ~ 11: 00 a.m. The actual weather at that time was cloudy with windy temperature of 24 ~ 26 ℃ and humidity of 46%
In order to simulate the most common scene when a mother walks her baby, we also replaced the blanket with a lighter long knitted sweater to cover the stroller.
Taking 25.8 ℃ as the starting temperature of the test, observation and recording were carried out for 1 hour.
After 30 minutes, the temperature increased by 5.5 ℃ to 31.3 ℃ and the humidity was 39%.
One hour later, the temperature rose by 7.6 ℃ to 33.4 ℃, while the humidity dropped to 33%.
That is to say, even if the temperature and humidity of the external environment are so suitable, the baby carriage completely shielded in a short period of one hour:
- The internal temperature actually rose above 30 ℃ and the humidity dropped to about 30%.
What if the ambient temperature is higher or the sun is directly shining?
What if it is covered with an airtight blanket?
The result will be unimaginable!
The little trick of love is actually [summer killer]
A thin blanket blocked the normal circulation of air inside the cart and the outside air.
The small space rapidly gathers heat to form a high-temperature confined space.
The air cannot flow in and the heat cannot disperse, which is equivalent to putting the baby in an invisible [cart steamer], and the danger is no less than that of a closed car!
You can imagine how uncomfortable we will be when the temperature rises rapidly and the humidity drops suddenly when we stay in a closed room with air conditioning on and heating on.
Compared with adults and immature babies, the body temperature regulation system is not mature and perfect enough, the basal metabolic rate is high, and the body will continuously absorb heat from the environment.
Once the temperature in the cart rises and the humidity decreases, breaking the balance between heat production and heat dissipation of the baby’s body, it is easy to suffer heatstroke, dehydration, coma in severe cases, and even sudden infant death syndrome!
In addition, the [healthy humidity] of the human body is 45% ~ 60%.
In this simulation experiment, the humidity dropped from [healthy humidity] to below 40% in less than 15 minutes.
Too low humidity will make the baby’s skin and respiratory tract feel dry, throat dry and even nasal mucosa hyperemia.
Dust, bacteria, etc. are more likely to adhere to mucous membrane, stimulate baby’s throat, lead to cough, and easily cause respiratory diseases such as bronchitis and asthma.
In addition to the hazards caused by high temperature and low humidity, another danger is that after the stroller is covered by blankets and clothes, it will block parents’ view.
If the baby has suffered heatstroke and is already in a state of extreme discomfort, but the parents cannot notice it, the dangerous consequences will be unimaginable!
So please all parents remember:
No blankets on the stroller!
No blankets on the stroller!
No blankets on the stroller!
Compared with blankets, clothes and covers made of various materials to cover the baby in the stroller, the awning provided by the stroller is the best choice.
Remember, ventilation is far more important than shading!
Three kinds of heatstroke grade symptoms, measures parents should remember
In the next few days, the temperature will continue to rise.
When taking the baby out of the house in hot weather, parents must observe and pay attention to the baby’s state at any time.
If the following symptoms occur, it is likely that the baby has suffered heatstroke, and timely measures must be taken according to the degree of heatstroke.
Threatened heatstroke-the most easily neglected type of heatstroke
Manifestation Symptoms:
Children’s skin has red rashes (also known as [prickly heat]), dizziness, chest tightness and listlessness.
Suggested measures:
Immediately stop outdoor activities, transfer the child to a cool environment, such as an air-conditioned car or an air-conditioned building, and dry the sweat on the body so as to dissipate heat and prevent further aggravation of heatstroke.
Mild heatstroke-the most common type of heatstroke
Manifestation Symptoms:
Children will suffer from dizziness, headache, flushing complexion, massive sweating, general weakness, accelerated pulse, inattention, uncoordinated movements and other symptoms, with body temperature exceeding 38 C.
Suggested measures:
Quickly transfer to a cool and ventilated place and give the child some cold boiled water containing salt to supplement the lost electrolyte and water.
Unbutton the clothes and apply a wet towel to the baby’s head, both sides of the neck, bilateral armpits, groin and inner thigh.
If the child’s response is still poor after cooling down, or the parents are not uncertain, they will go to the hospital for treatment.
Severe heatstroke-a very dangerous type of heatstroke
Manifestation Symptoms:
Children may have muscle spasms, syncope, coma or high fever, including heat spasms, heat failure and heat stroke, with a body temperature of 40 C.
Resolution:
The child should be quickly transferred to a cool place, called 120 or sent to the nearest doctor in time! If it is not handled in time, it may really endanger life.
Children are delicate and are more prone to heatstroke than adults.
For the sake of children’s life safety, adults must always pay attention and pay attention.
Don’t do bad things with good intentions, let yourself become a summer killer for children with a [act of love]!
