There has been a saying in various media that one’s health can be seen from the color of one’s lips. For example, too red lips mean [big fire], and black lips mean [life is not long].
Life is not long ago, so I asked you if you were afraid.
From this point of view, the lips are simply a catalogue of red numbers. They change color from red to black. Looking in the mirror every day and looking at the catalogue, one can know one’s physical condition and even estimate how many years one has left.
However, what if you are color blind?
All right, all right, it’s all a joke. Seriously, how did the color of the lips come from? Different lip colors represent what again?
Lip color, how did you get it?
The distribution of blood vessels on the lips is very rich, and the skin here is much thinner than that on other parts. To some extent, it indirectly reflects the color of blood, so most people’s lips are red.
Everyone’s lip color is different, which is related to the thin thickness of skin, the number of blood vessels and even skin color.
Some people are born [with flaming red lips], while others are [pink and tender and shy], which does not mean that there are what differences in health.
When modern medicine conducts physical examination, it will not identify lip color with the catalogue of mouth red numbers, let alone easily draw what conclusions.
The first kind of relationship: nothing
Many look [abnormal lip color], not necessarily sick.
Freezing: Lips are purple with cold
This is because in a cold environment, the arterioles of the lip contract, the heat dissipation decreases, and the arterial blood flowing through the lips decreases, which will show the purple color of venous blood.
Dry lips: pale lips
When the lips are especially dry, the water content of the stratum corneum of the skin decreases, and the lip color may turn white, but there will be no exaggerated white, only the lip color will change.
As you get older, your lips turn dark.
As one grows older, some people’s lips will become darker, which is actually caused by skin pigmentation.
These lip color changes have nothing to do with the disease. Of course, if your lips turn purple with cold or pale with dry mouth, it is recommended that you drink some hot water!
However, some common abnormal lip colors really need to be on guard…
The second kind of relationship: it really has something to do with it,
The first abnormality: pale lips
If your lips turn white for no reason and your eyes turn white together, nine times out of ten you are anaemic.
There are many diseases that cause anemia, which may be malnutrition, iron deficiency, digestive tract parasites, tumors and even hematological diseases.
Eating jujube, donkey-hide gelatin and other [blood enriching artifacts] at home, or cooking in a raw iron pan every day, not only has no effect, but may also delay treatment.
If you find your lips pale, remember to go to the hospital.
The second anomaly: purple lips
This phenomenon is professionally called [cyanosis of the mouth and lips], and the common cause is lack of oxygen.
It is different from the above-mentioned [lips are frozen purple], cyanosis can be seen at normal room temperature.
Purple lips can be found at all ages. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary heart disease, asthma and other diseases may lead to purple lips, of which COPD is the most common.
Long-term hypoxia will damage all tissues and organs of the whole body. Once found, it needs to be treated as soon as possible and systematically.
If cyanosis of the mouth and lips is found in young people and even children, we should be more vigilant, because unless we have severe pneumonia (which will definitely lead to medical treatment), it is also likely to be a manifestation of congenital heart disease.
The third anomaly: cherry red lips
Unless you wear cherry lipstick, this lip color can only be seen in ambulances, emergency rooms or hyperbaric oxygen cabins.
If the lip color is cherry red, it means carbon monoxide poisoning and needs immediate treatment!
As fewer and fewer people use charcoal stoves, cherry red lips are also less and less common. However, carbon monoxide poisoning does not only occur in small bungalows heated by charcoal fires. Any insufficient combustion will produce carbon monoxide.
For example, carbon monoxide poisoning will occur if you eat charcoal fire and copper pot to rinse meat in a small room with poor ventilation (it is really not impossible) and close the window and burn charcoal at home (you need to call the police here).
Well, having said so much, from tomorrow on, Dr. Clove thinks that everyone should no longer look in the mirror and take the red catalogue for their own physical examination, right?
The color of lips does have something to do with various reasons, but I think, of all the relationships, it should have the closest relationship with lipstick…
