In the pre-pregnancy examination and routine gynecological examination, the most commonly found problem may be the prompt [cleanliness] problem in leucorrhea routine examination.
Leucorrhea [bad], can you be pregnant? Can pregnancy be treated and how can it be treated?
Let’s talk about this topic today.
Is what [Leucorrhea Cleanliness]?
Leucorrhea cleanliness is a common and main indicator to reflect the presence or absence of vaginal inflammation, which is generally divided into I ~ IV grades.
We are familiar with [inflammation is considered above Grade II], but we generally do not know how the clinical laboratory judges the classification.
First of all, we should understand that bacteria already exist in the vagina, mainly bacteria called [lactobacillus vaginalis], which make the vagina weakly acidic, inhibit the growth of other miscellaneous bacteria and microorganisms, and can protect the vagina from or less from inflammation.
The main evaluation index of cleanliness is vaginal lactobacillus, the number of epithelial cells and the number of white blood cells. The higher the grade, the more severe the inflammation, the more white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria will be found under the microscope, and the fewer vaginal bacilli will be found-when the cleanliness is rated as IV, the vaginal bacilli under the microscope will be 0.
How’s cleanliness needs treatment?
In the treatment of vaginal inflammation, it is very important to restore the normal flora environment of the vagina itself. In other words, the treatment of vaginitis does not require [eliminating all microorganisms in the vagina], nor does it require [absolutely cleaning the vagina].
In the case of what, does the change in cleanliness require treatment?
Generally speaking, treatment is only possible if the cleanliness level is above Grade II, that is, grades III and IV are reached. However, if it is complicated with fungal infection, vaginal trichomoniasis, bacterial, atrophic vaginosis or other sexually transmitted diseases, treatment is required regardless of grade.
At present, there are 8 kinds of sexually transmitted diseases that our country focuses on preventing and treating:
-
Syphilis
-
Gonorrhea
-
AIDS
-
Nongonococcal urethritis (cervicitis)
-
Condyloma acuminatum
-
Genital herpes
-
Soft chancre
-
Venereal lymphogranuloma
Among them, the incidence rate of the last two is relatively low.
I don’t know if there is a corresponding situation. If one of the following situations exists, consult a doctor for help:
-
Changes in the shape of leucorrhea
-
Pruritus of vulva and growth of vegetations
-
Pain in lower abdomen, soreness of waist accompanied by increased leucorrhea and peculiar smell
- Having had multiple sexual partners or having had sexual partners diagnosed with sexually transmitted diseases…
Of course, both husband and wife preparing for pregnancy need regular pregnancy health examination.
So, will fungi, trichomonas vaginalis or sexually transmitted diseases affect pregnancy or baby development?
I. Mould (Candida albicans Infection)
What’s performance?
Mould is generally typical, with obvious pruritus of the external pudendum and leucorrhea with bean curd residue-like secretions.
Does it affect pregnancy?
During pregnancy, due to the increase of leucorrhea secretions, the probability of mold recurrence will increase, and mold infection in the second and third trimester of pregnancy also has a very low risk of premature rupture of membranes.
Can pregnancy be treated?
Pregnant mothers and expectant mothers need not worry too much. Drugs for mold treatment are currently available for pregnancy preparation and pregnancy. As long as regular treatment is provided, fetuses and newborns will not be greatly affected.
II. Trichomoniasis (Trichomonas vaginalis infection)
What’s performance?
Trichomonas vaginitis symptoms are typical: itchy, leucorrhea foul, thin, yellow-green, foam-like.
Does it affect pregnancy?
Trichomonas vaginalis can devour sperm, lead to infertility, and may also lead to premature rupture of membranes, premature delivery and low birth weight infants. However, after regular treatment, it has little impact on the fetus and newborn.
Can pregnancy be treated?
It is found that trichomonas vaginitis requires joint treatment by both husband and wife. Regular treatment is recommended until doctors judge that there is no risk of recurrence during pregnancy. Medication during pregnancy should be cautious. It is recommended to consult doctors before proceeding.
Three, syphilis (treponema pallidum infection)
What’s performance?
In the early stage, it can be manifested as a single ulcer-like change of genitals, but unlike ulcers, it is painless, hard in texture and mostly clean in surface. Recurrent, there can be symmetrical palm and plantar desquamation erythema.
Does it affect pregnancy?
If the baby in the belly is infected by Treponema pallidum, it may cause deformity, abortion, premature delivery and stillbirth. The birth mother is the newborn of syphilis patients, and may suffer from congenital syphilis. Not only will the appearance be affected, but also the development of nervous system may appear obstacles.
Can I get pregnant with illness?
If syphilis is found during pregnancy preparation, it should be treated until the syphilis serum screening test (RPR) is negative before pregnancy.
Can pregnancy be treated?
Syphilis found during pregnancy is generally recessive syphilis, There are no obvious clinical symptoms. It is not necessary to terminate pregnancy when syphilis is found during pregnancy. Regular treatment can protect the newborn to a great extent, reduce the probability of congenital syphilis and eliminate maternal infection. When the newborn is delivered, RPR examination should be performed routinely and compared with the results of mother’s RPR, so as to find congenital syphilis in time.
Four, gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection)
What’s performance?
After suffering from gonorrhea, men can show pain in urine, redness and swelling of urethral orifice with pus overflow. Women may not have obvious symptoms, and may also have leucorrhea or burning pain.
Does it affect pregnancy?
Serious infection may affect pregnancy; Suffering from gonorrhea during pregnancy may lead to fetal intrauterine growth retardation, chorioamnionitis, thus leading to premature delivery, intrauterine infection, etc. If the germs are transmitted to the baby during childbirth, the baby may have gonococcal ophthalmia, pneumonia, etc.
Can I get pregnant with illness?
If gonorrhea is found during pregnancy preparation, pregnancy cannot be carried out until smear and culture are negative for Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Can pregnancy be treated?
Gonococcus infection found during pregnancy requires timely, sufficient and standardized treatment. In particular, newborns also need treatment after birth to prevent eye infection.
Five, nongonococcal genital tract inflammation (Chlamydia trachomatis infection)
What’s performance?
If infected, men can have urethral itching with thin secretions, women can have no obvious symptoms, or only leucorrhea changes.
Does it affect pregnancy?
Chlamydia infection may cause tubal and pelvic inflammation, resulting in increased probability of infertility or ectopic pregnancy. Chlamydia infection in the third trimester of pregnancy may lead to uterine cavity infection. If the newborn is infected, it may lead to neonatal conjunctivitis and pneumonia.
Can I get pregnant with illness?
If chlamydia infection is found before pregnancy preparation, treatment is required until chlamydia is negative before pregnancy is considered.
Can pregnancy be treated?
At present, there is still controversy over whether to treat it. If treatment is needed, medication is recommended in the third trimester of pregnancy. For newborns that may be infected, timely treatment should be given.
Six, condyloma acuminatum (mostly HPV6, 11 infection)
What’s performance?
Pregnant women during pregnancy are more prone to infection, which can be manifested as vulvar pruritus, burning pain or post-sexual intercourse pain in the early stage, scattered or clustered pink or white small papillary warts, and later can fuse and develop cauliflower-like or mulberry-like hyperplasia.
Does it affect pregnancy?
It is unlikely that HPV will affect the fetus during pregnancy, but if the focus affects vulva, vagina, cervix and other places, it may cause laceration of soft birth canal and lead to massive hemorrhage.
Can pregnancy be treated?
Before 36 weeks of pregnancy, you can use local medication or physical therapy. For specific treatment methods, you need to consult a doctor.
Seven, genital herpes (HSV infection)
What’s performance?
After infection, the genitals and anal skin will grow clusters of blisters, which will erode or form ulcers after ulceration, which is very painful and may also have systemic symptoms.
Does it affect pregnancy?
Infection in the first trimester of pregnancy may lead to fetal malformation. Infection in the third trimester of pregnancy may increase the rate of premature delivery and is less transmitted through placenta. Newborns are mainly infected through cervix and lower reproductive tract, and can also be infected through ruptured fetal membranes.
Can pregnancy be treated?
Acyclovir can be used in the first trimester of pregnancy in accordance with the doctor’s advice. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) has a very strong teratogenic effect, and pregnant parents need to understand the risk of fetal malformation. In order to reduce the infection of babies during childbirth, cesarean section is the main delivery method.
