Hello everyone, I am Sun Yi, and everyone calls me Jojo. I am a master of medicine, an attending doctor of obstetrics and gynecology in Shanghai 3A Hospital, a member of the Popular Science Group of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Shanghai Women’s Rehabilitation Medical Association, and a multi-platform We Media native who is committed to sharing popular science knowledge on women’s health.
Not long ago, I received a little girl who had just entered college and fainted after vomiting during class. As a result, she was transferred from the school hospital to the internal medicine department and then to me.
The little girl had a history of menopause, accompanied by lower abdomen swelling, nausea and vomiting in the morning, which gradually worsened. She vomited after drinking water these two days.
She insisted that she had never had sex before and refused to check urine HCG because the [menstruation] delayed for more than half a month had just come a little bit.
However, I still suggest that she have a urine test and B-ultrasound, which is suspected to be hyperemesis gravidarum.
The final result of B-ultrasound list is: early pregnancy in the uterus, see heart tube beating. As expected, the little girl is indeed pregnant, has been about 7 weeks. Today’s vaginal bleeding is not menstruation, but red after pregnancy.
Only later did I know that the little girl and her boyfriend had marginal sex. In her understanding, this is not sex, and her boyfriend also told her that she would definitely not be pregnant.
However, even if the hymen is not ruptured, there is still a risk of pregnancy (knock on the blackboard to draw the key points).
This kind of situation of little girls is not uncommon in obstetrics and gynecology. Many ignorant boys and girls who have just entered the society know little about sexual knowledge, lack of self-protection awareness, and are misled by unreliable contraceptive methods.
So today, we might as well count with Jojo the contraceptive methods that are widely circulated but not reliable at all.
First, the safe period contraception method is a rumor,
For example, from the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of a woman can be divided into menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. Safe period contraception is a contraceptive method to stop sexual life during ovulation period.
This is a widely circulated rumor. However, ovulation will be advanced or delayed due to various factors such as emotion, hormone and stimulation.
Contraception during the safe period is not safe at all, with a success rate of only 76%.
Second, the success rate of extracorporeal sperm discharge contraception is low.
Excretion of sperm in vitro, although the naked eye does not see sperm entering the vagina, but not seeing does not mean that there is really no. Even if discharged out of the body, sperm may flow into the vagina along vulvar secretions, leading to pregnancy.
In addition, before men ejaculate, a small amount of semen and prostatic fluid may flow out of the urethral orifice. Even if only one drop, it will contain 50,000 to 60,000 sperm, enough to cause women to become pregnant.
The success rate of sperm excretion in vitro is only 78%, so sisters should not try with lucky mentality.
Third, it is very dangerous not to use condoms all the way.
Many men like to wear condoms halfway, which is tantamount to excreting sperm outside the body.
The exchange of body fluids starts from the moment of contact. If condoms are used too late or removed too early or too late, pregnancy may be caused as long as sperm overflows.
Therefore, it is safer to use condoms all the way.
Four, flushing vagina after sex does not work,
I have a patient who failed contraception again and again. Only after questioning did she know that she used the method of flushing the vagina after sex to prevent contraception. I thought that flushing the vagina after sex could prevent sperm and eggs from meeting.
This is simply contempt for the strength of human sperm.
During ovulation, it takes only a few minutes for sperm to enter the fallopian tube from the vagina.
By the time you get up to take a bath and wash your vagina, there may have been a lot of sperm entering the uterus. It is simply black humor to use this method of contraception.
Five, cola spermicidal too ridiculous
This is a big rumor!
The story comes from the sexual liberation period in the 1960s. After the earthquake of American men and women’s cars, the woman would insert bottled Coke into @ # ¥% & to wash semen to realize contraception (this picture is too beautiful for Jojo to think about it).
Later, the obstetrician and gynecologist of Harvard Medical School, whose brain was wide open, mixed alcohol, coffee, cola, milk and other substances with sperm in the laboratory, and then came to the conclusion that alcohol spermicidal, coffee spermicidal and cola spermicidal.
The research won the 2008 Ig Nobel Prize in chemistry and gradually spread to [cola spermicidal].
However, after sex, the idea of flushing the vagina with cola to prevent pregnancy is really fantastic.
Six, lactation contraception is risky
Many mothers think that they have just given birth to a baby and have no menstruation during lactation. They will not be pregnant if they have the same room and do not need contraceptive measures. This is another big trap!
During lactation, even if there is no menstruation, it is possible to ovulate. Ovulation and menstruation are not consistent, and the possibility of ovulation means the possibility of pregnancy.
Therefore, love is risky and contraception should be cautious.
