One day, we will all grow old.
We all have to face blurred vision, invisibility, loss of vision, hearing loss and even deafness…
Maybe we don’t know that it is how’s world, but we must have family or relatives around us [struggling] in that world, and we don’t know how to help him.
The feeling of aging really makes people helpless.
Before that age, it is very difficult for us to have that personal feeling, but through some equipment, we can experience the life of the elderly in advance. The following is the personal feeling of a medical worker in a 3A hospital:
I had the honor to participate in an experience activity for medical staff. I experienced the feelings of the elderly by wearing various simulated elderly experience devices.
When I put on this outfit, the most intuitive feeling was blurred vision. I picked up a newspaper and leaned in front of my eyes, trying to see clearly some what. My nose was printed with ink, but I still couldn’t see clearly the words on it, let alone threading the needle.
Wearing these glasses, I found presbyopia, which became more and more blurred as I got closer. Everything in my field of vision was dim and dim. I could not consciously tilt my head back or take books and newspapers further away to see the words clearly.
The staff set up a scene of a small supermarket. When I got to the supermarket, I was almost on the price list, but I still couldn’t see the price clearly. Ask the [salesperson], but because of [deafness], I couldn’t hear what she said.
The feeling of aging really makes people helpless.
Most of the time we ignore the feelings of the old people around us, because it is always difficult to get along with them, and we need to communicate with them very loudly. They often cannot see clearly ….
But these are not their fault. It is our fault not to have enough patience and skills.
