Patient questioning
Hello, Dr. Tong. I have been urinating frequently for four or five years. I checked it about 2 years ago. At that time, only uneven echo of prostate was found. The doctor said mild prostatitis and that there might be neurological factors, which made me adjust myself and did not take medicine for treatment.
About half a month ago, I felt that the symptoms worsened and the frequency of getting up at night was higher than before. I did the same examination and found that the prostate echo was hypoechoic with calcification and there was a 4*4 mm cyst.
May I ask how to treat this situation? Am I getting worse with prostatitis? Do you want to have a prostate fluid examination? In addition, how to improve the frequency of urination? (Attached with photo of inspection report)

Hello, thank you for your trust and questions.
According to the medical history you described and the uploaded examination results, the main problems are [double kidney silt-like stones] and [prostate small cysts], and the most serious problem for you is frequent urination.
Taken together, my suggestions are as follows:
1. About prostatitis
The echo of prostate gland is not uniform, which mainly indicates that there may be prostatitis. Calcification may be formed after repeated inflammation, which does not necessarily mean that it is worse than before, because factors such as sexual activity and age growth may lead to calcification.
If you have done prostate fluid examination before and found no problem, you do not need prostate fluid culture examination at present.
If you have not done prostatic fluid examination before, you can consider doing it this time to eliminate bacterial prostatitis and other diseases.
If the examination finds that it is only chronic prostatitis and you do not have what pain and discomfort, you can consider not taking drugs for the time being, maintaining a normal life, eating a balanced diet, avoiding sedentary sitting and exercising moderately.
2. To deal with frequent micturition, drugs can be taken orally.
Slightly plump prostate gland, coupled with mental factors, may indeed be the main cause of frequent urination. You can consider taking drugs such as tamsulosin and tamsulosin orally to improve symptoms and observe the curative effect.
3. Don’t worry about cysts
Prostate cysts with a size of 4 mm do not need special treatment for the time being, and can be reviewed during the annual physical examination.
Cyst, to put it bluntly, is a small blister, don’t worry too much.
4. To deal with stones, adjust the lifestyle first.
Double kidney silt-like stones, which requires you to pay attention to drinking more water at ordinary times, to ensure that the daily drinking amount is 2000 mL, to urinate more, to promote stone discharge, to prevent the formation of large stones.
Frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination and unclean urination
Calculus, prostate disease, sexual dysfunction
