The baby’s eating, drinking, pulling and scattering are the most concerned issues for parents. Among them, eating and drinking affect parents’ nerves.
Today, Dr. Clove shared with everyone all kinds of problems about drinking water for the baby.
Don’t drink extra water before adding supplementary foods.
Before the baby adds supplementary food, unless he is ill, the doctor said that he should drink water to prevent dehydration and should not feed water.
Before adding supplementary foods, breast milk and formula milk can provide enough water for the baby.
Moreover, the baby’s stomach volume is relatively small. If extra water is fed, the baby’s normal milk drinking will be affected.
Don’t think too much about the water used to flush milk powder.
For babies who drink formula milk, how to choose the water for flushing milk powder? Ding Ma’s doctor friend suggested this:
Boil tap water, then cool to 40 ~ 60 ℃, and then add milk powder according to proportion.
Well, you are right, it is so economical and simple!
Some parents may not be at ease, there are a lot of problems:
Is it okay to use purified water from the drinking fountain?
There is a lot of scale in the boiling water at home. Do you want to buy special [baby water] for your baby?
Yin and Yang water, thousands of boiling water, can you give the baby milk powder?
Don’t panic, so many questions, let Dr. Clove say one by one.
1. Baby water is not necessary
Some manufacturers publicize that baby water has various benefits for babies, such as strict sterility, low sodium, and less minerals that do not add burden to the kidneys … It looks beautiful, but it is really unnecessary.
Generally, there is less sodium and minerals in tap water. The process of boiling tap water can play an effective bactericidal role.
If you are worried that your own water quality is relatively hard, boiling water can also remove minerals (as evidenced by the thick layer of scale in the kettle). Babies can also use the boiled water.
Of course, if you just have no shortage of money, you want to soak milk powder with baby water and buy it.
In fact, it is better to save the money and buy some fun toys or some good-looking picture books for the baby.
2. There is nothing wrong with purified water.
Some parents worry that pure water does not contain minerals, which will affect the baby’s development.
In fact, we can’t expect to supplement minerals to our baby by washing milk powder water. Breast milk or formula milk is the main source of minerals for babies.
3. Don’t worry
Legend has it that [Yin and Yang water] is water mixed with hot boiled water and cold boiled water, and it is also said that boiled water is mixed with well water and unboiled water.
If it is the latter, don’t say baby, adults also don’t drink!
If the hot water and cold water mixed together have boiled, isn’t it just a cup of warm boiled water? Do you have to wait for boiling water to cool before drinking when you are thirsty?
4. [Thousand boiling water] can be used
Sometimes I want to be lazy. When making milk powder for my baby, I will heat it up a little bit and then use it. Is it okay?
Perhaps some treasure parents will worry that the repeated heating of [thousands of boiling water] and the increase of carcinogen [nitrite] content will endanger the baby’s health.
In fact, even if it is heated repeatedly for 20 times, the [nitrite] content in the water is far lower than the national standard limit for drinking water, so you don’t have to frighten yourself.
How much water should the baby drink?
After the baby is 6 months old, slowly add supplementary food, and you can feed water with a small cup. At first, the amount should be less, and the daily amount should be controlled within 50ml.
Try to give your baby less juice to drink, but should cultivate the habit of drinking plain boiled water. Of course, in addition to plain boiled water, the water just mentioned can be used to brew milk powder, and the baby can also drink it.
There are many ways to make babies fall in love with drinking water, such as buying them their favorite cartoon cups, or cutting a slice of lemon and soaking it in water to taste.
