No matter the poop is three times a day or three times a week, it is within the normal range.
Most breast-fed babies defecate 1-2 times a day. However, we do not require the specific defecation frequency of the baby, once a day or 2-8 times a day. Generally, the stool frequency will decrease after the supplementary food is added, and it will decrease to about once a day after the age of 1.
There are also some babies with good intestinal absorption function who defecate once a few days (which is what we often call stomach saving).
If the baby’s defecation time interval is relatively long, or occasionally defecation is very hard, there is no need to worry too much, most of them are normal. However, most artificially fed babies defecate 1-2 times a day.
Some mothers will worry about constipation when they find that their baby has less poop. In fact, constipation is not simply seen from the time and frequency of defecation. Simply put, if the baby has difficulty defecating and the defecated stool is dry and even bloodshot, constipation should be considered.
In short, as long as the baby has a normal diet, a normal growth curve, no fever and vomiting, and a good mental state, there is no need to worry.
