One of the words that gout patients often talk about is [gout will attack every time they make what and eat what], and [what] is the inducing factor of gout, that is to say, these conditions may lead to gout attack.
In the long run, the continuous low level of uric acid is the key to prevent gout attacks. However, in the short term, controlling inducing factors is also very important to prevent gout attacks.
To this end, Dr. Clove has sorted out the following 8 inducing factors, hoping that everyone can avoid and reduce gout attacks as much as possible.
Error 1: Love to Drink
Liquor and beer are taboos of gout and are easy to induce gout. As for whether red wine induces gout, the current research results are inconsistent, but gout doctors suggest not to drink it as much as possible.
Some friends may ask [can’t I just take a sip]?
Indeed, we often say that [regardless of dosage, the effect is hooliganism], and so is the effect of alcohol on gout. Most studies have found that the more you drink, the more gout you are likely to attack, so if you really [take an occasional sip] it may not induce gout.
But friends who love drinking, when they really drink, can you guarantee that they will only take a sip? Besides, alcohol is also a primary carcinogen, which is related to liver cirrhosis, digestive tract ulcer and other diseases.
Therefore, gout friends should quit drinking.
Error 2: Big Fish and Big Meat
Everyone knows that gout should be properly avoided, otherwise gout is easy to attack, but many friends do not do a good job of [moderation].
The main reason why gout is forbidden is that food contains a substance called [purine], which will be metabolized into uric acid in the body, thus directly increasing blood uric acid and inducing gout.
Viscera, some seafood, thick soup and other foods have extremely high purine content. Eating a little may cause large uric acid fluctuation and induce gout, so it should be avoided.
However, meat such as pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens and ducks, as the main source of protein, has medium purine content. As long as it is not too high, its effect on uric acid is acceptable.
Gout needs to be avoided, but [does not mean that you cannot eat any meat].
Error 3: Strenuous Exercise
It is well known that exercise is good for health, but gout patients should exercise gently.
According to a survey by the National Rheumatism Data Center, strenuous exercise is the third cause of gout attacks in men and women. Sudden cold is the second cause of gout attacks in women and the fifth cause of gout attacks in men. At present, it is believed that strenuous exercise produces a large amount of lactic acid, thus inhibiting the excretion of uric acid and inducing gout.
There are many ways to judge whether an exercise is [strenuous exercise]. Here is one recommended: whether the whole body is sore after exercise. If the whole body is sore for several days, it will be severe, and the intensity will be reduced during the next exercise.
Error 4: Love Sweet Drinks
Coke and fruit juice sold on the market are all sweet drinks. Current studies have found that these drinks will increase the risk of gout.
The main reason is that a large amount of fructose in beverages will cause an increase in blood uric acid, while excessive sugar intake will also increase the risk of obesity and is not conducive to gout control.
For gout patients, they should drink as little commercial sweet drinks as possible. Those who can eat fruits directly will never squeeze juice.
Error 5: Don’t like drinking water,
Uric acid in the body is mainly excreted with urine through the kidney. Drinking more water can produce enough urine. At the same time, paying attention to drinking more water during gout attacks is also helpful to shorten the time of gout attacks.
During the remission period and the onset period of gout, more than 2,000 ml of drinking water should be guaranteed every day. Low-sugar and low-calorie drinks such as plain boiled water, soda water (containing sodium bicarbonate) and light tea are good choices.
Error 6: Obesity
Obese people are more likely to suffer from gout. Statistics show that more than 50% of gout patients in China are overweight or obese.
Gout friends should pay attention to control food calorie intake and continue moderate and low intensity aerobic exercise.
Error 7: Don’t like fresh vegetables,
Most vegetables are low in calories and rich in dietary fiber, which are conducive to obesity control. At the same time, potassium ions in vegetables are also conducive to uric acid excretion.
For gout patients, the daily intake of vegetables should reach 500 g or more, and less oil should be paid attention to when cooking vegetables.
Error 8: Irregular diet and rest
Some studies have found that people who eat and rest irregularly and are often tired are more likely to suffer from high uric acid and gout.
