Every family has refrigerators. Open your refrigerator door and it may usually be full:
Leftovers, leftovers, various vegetables, melons and fruits, milk, eggs, cooked meat, beverages, chocolate, ketchup, canned food, tea, and even cosmetics, beauty products, health care products and medicinal materials…
Look at the Japanese housewife’s refrigerator again.
Many people use refrigerators whenever they can. But you may not know that the use of refrigerators is also learned.
Let’s share with you how to make better use of the refrigerator to preserve the freshness of food to the greatest extent and make you eat healthier!
First, to make good use of the refrigerator, cannot do without these accessories
1. Fresh-keeping box
Fresh-keeping boxes of various sizes can make the refrigerator as a whole fresher and cleaner, and can also prevent odor from smelling, so that you can easily and quickly find the food you need. Square fresh-keeping boxes are recommended to save more space.
2. Fresh-keeping bag
If the space in the refrigerator is not very large, it is recommended to prepare food fresh-keeping bags of various sizes. The prepared ingredients can be put into the fresh-keeping bags for storage. Special frozen fresh-keeping bags should be used in the freezer compartment.
II. Use of Refrigerating Chamber
1. Separate raw and cooked products and store them in different categories.
Separating raw and cooked products and storing them in different categories can avoid cross-contamination and mutual odor.
- Cooked food and directly imported food can be placed on the upper two layers, such as leftovers, yogurt, milk, cooked food, etc. Raw food should be placed on the lower two layers, such as raw vegetables, raw tofu, etc. All raw food should be put into fresh-keeping boxes or bags independently. If the leftovers are not put into the fresh-keeping box, cover them with a layer of plastic wrap.
2. Partition by temperature
The temperature in different parts of the refrigerator is different, and the best place to store all kinds of food is also different. Generally speaking, the lower part of the refrigerator is colder than the upper part, and the place deep inside is colder than the place near the door. This is recommended when putting food:
- Vegetables and fruits are more afraid of freezing and cannot be placed too close to the inner wall, otherwise they will be easily frostbitten. Not afraid of frozen bean products, leftovers can be put on the inside. The part that opens the door outside has the highest temperature and is suitable for putting some foods that are not so easy to break or are to be eaten immediately, such as eggs, cheese, beverages, condiments, etc.
III. Use of Freezing Chamber
Step 1 Turn the temperature down
If the temperature in the freezer is only minus a few degrees, a large amount of icing will puncture the cells of the food and will collapse after thawing, affecting the taste.
If the temperature is adjusted below-18 ℃, the overall effect will make the food variety more stable. Also pay attention to regular defrosting, because too much frosting will affect the cooling effect.
2. Food suitable for freezing compartment
In addition to all kinds of meat, fish and ice cream, other foods put into the freezer also have unexpected beauty:
(1) Tea
Tea leaves are easy to lose their aroma if they are kept for too long. They can be divided into small bags and tightly wrapped in fresh-keeping bags and put into the freezer. In this way, the next year, they will still taste fresh.
(2) Starch foods such as steamed bread
Starch foods such as steamed bread and cakes are more suitable for freezing compartments.
Whether it is rice, steamed bread, noodles or cakes, all kinds of starchy foods will dry and harden after being cooked. This process will occur at room temperature, but at the temperature of the refrigerator, the hardening speed will be faster!
If you buy one-get-one-free bread from the supermarket, or a large bag of steamed bread rolls, you may as well split it into small bags and put it into the freezer. It is not easy to expire and will not grow mildew. Take it out and thaw it in the microwave oven. It is soft and fresh as before!
(3) Beans and dried fruits
Beans, nuts, dried fruits, etc. are easy to bear insects. If they are divided into small bags that can be eaten in advance, packed and placed in the freezer for two or three weeks, the eggs naturally carried in natural foods cannot germinate normally and can be stored for a longer time.
3. Separate raw and cooked and store in layers
Like the refrigerating compartment, the refrigerating compartment should also be stored in different categories:
- Raw fish, raw meat, seafood and raw tofu, which need to be fully heated, can be placed on the lower layer. All kinds of cooked pasta, pastry and other starchy staple foods are placed on the upper layer. All kinds of quick-frozen foods, such as quick-frozen dumplings and quick-frozen peas, can be placed on the middle layer or on the upper layer. In short, they must be separated from fish, seafood and raw foods.
Four, refrigerator is not safe deposit box
Many people think that everything will be all right if the food is put in the refrigerator, but the refrigerator cannot let time stand still … and even if the food does not deteriorate, nutrition will be lost if it is put in the refrigerator for too long.
- Green leafy vegetables in the refrigerator can only be stored for about 3 days. It is also best to eat other vegetables within a week to avoid a decline in nutritional value. In the freezer, although frozen food can be stored for 12 months without corruption, it is also best to eat it within 2 months. If you leave it in the freezer for too long, the food will not corrupt, but over time, fat will oxidize, protein texture will deteriorate, and vitamin content will also decrease.
It is really not worth spending the price of fresh food, but the nutrition and taste of the food you eat have decreased, and you have to pay the electricity bill.
It is recommended that you put a label on the fresh-keeping box or bag, stating the type of ingredients and the duration of consumption.
Five, regular cleaning
Freezing compartment, like refrigerating compartment, needs to be cleaned regularly. It is recommended to clean it once a month and wipe it clean. At the same time, the freezer should also pay attention to defrosting.
Be kind to your refrigerator and don’t let it become a place where only expired food is piled up!
