At ordinary times, people think that cancer is far away from them and they are not interested in learning about it. Only when celebrities get cancer is an exception.
When Yao Beina died, the article on breast cancer was flashed on the screen. When Kai-fu Lee recovered, articles on lymphoma spread all over his circle of friends.
However, most of these stories are just celebrity consumption and mixed with unreliable things. For example, Liu Qing, president of Didi Company, told everyone that he was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery.
At that time, there were not only popular science articles on various breast cancer, but also a lot of content about how hard she worked, [18 rounds of interviews at Goldman Sachs] [100 hours a week], all to hint-
Her cancer is directly related to hard work.
Is this really the case?
Do people who work hard get tired of cancer?
The answer is: there is no scientific basis.
Many people say that I feel that if I work too long, people are too tired, and my immunity will decrease, I will easily get cancer.
But science cannot rely on feeling. Because it is meaningless to look at a case in science, it depends on group statistics.
I searched for authoritative research reports, such as [long working hours + cancer] in Pubmed, a biomedical search tool, and a total of 124 articles came out, but none of them showed that long working hours increased the probability of cancer. Moreover, I searched elsewhere and found no relevant research reports.
If you think about it, you will know that there are more than ten million people who work hard and how many people have cancer.
People who work hard are more vulnerable to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular injuries.
But then again, I fully agree that [overwork hurts the body], because long working hours are indeed bad for the body, especially the risk of cardiovascular diseases will increase a lot.
Recently, the well-known international medical journal Lancet published the results of a long-term follow-up survey of more than 600,000 people. It was found that the probability of stroke (commonly known as stroke) and coronary heart disease for people who worked more than 55 hours a week was 33% higher than that for people who worked 40 hours.
It is often said that it is true that overwork is easy to die suddenly. Now scientific research has confirmed this point.
Therefore, instead of worrying about cancer, those who work hard should be more concerned about cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
Once there are [omens], such as frequent vertigo and irregular heartbeat, don’t ignore them. Go to a doctor and have an examination in time.
Why do young people who work hard get cancer?
The root cause of cancer is the mutation of oncogene, which has two major causes: congenital and acquired.
Cancer in the 80-year-old is mostly related to acquired (environmental) impacts, which are gene mutations accumulated over the years, while cancer in young infants is almost all caused by congenital genetic factors.
As for young people, the cause of cancer is somewhere in between.
Many people in this part of the population have congenital reasons, such as genetic reasons, which are more likely to produce gene mutations than normal people. Coupled with exposure to some environmental factors (such as long-term exposure to inferior materials), congenital + acquired, unlucky will get sick.
Although every young cancer patient will ask, “Why me?” ], but I don’t know there is a better answer for what.
It’s no use complaining about others. It’s better to focus on cooperating with treatment. After all, many cancers are no longer incurable diseases, especially those that young people easily get.
Take breast cancer as an example, the overall 10-year survival rate is close to 90%, and Liu Qing has recovered after regular treatment.
Regular physical examination, develop good living habits, even if cancer is really found, as long as you don’t go to the [master], follow the doctor’s advice, regular treatment, the chance of cure is still very great.
