On the first day of the New Year, when I woke up from a late sleep, I saw not a flood of New Year’s greetings, but the bad news of the stampede among my classmates. One of my college classmates happened to be on the emergency shift in the emergency room and experienced the rescue from beginning to end.
The stampede that took place in the New Year
She said that they were very busy in the first half of the night yesterday (31st). All kinds of acute medical patients such as myocardial infarction and cerebral hemorrhage were already lying in the emergency room, but they were still routine and still at the rhythm of emergency night shift.
Not long after zero, She got an empty space and planned to send a mass message to everyone to wish them the New Year. Before she finished typing a few simple words, He received a forecast call-a stampede on the Bund, and a group of wounded arrived immediately. As a result, the news was not sent out, and she began to inform the chief on duty, calling the doctor on duty from various departments to rush to the emergency room, and calling the doctor at home to the hospital.
She said the time was not long, and the patients almost arrived at the emergency department together with the hospital support doctors.
A large number of wounded need more medical staff.
Although they knew that many patients would come, they still did not expect so many, 29.
Some people may think that there are not many 29 people. This is actually just an intuitive feeling given to you by the number [29]. You may have expected hundreds of thousands of numbers in your heart. Seeing 29 will feel too few.
However, those who have really been on night shift and participated in treatment will know that this number of patients is a scene in how and means what to doctors! Moreover, if we calculate according to the allocation of two doctors to rescue a patient, there should be at least 60 doctors, nurses and rescue equipment. People like me who have never experienced such a big scene gasped.
Classify with signs to increase rescue efficiency.
It is impossible for all the patients to be sent to one hospital, but they can only be rescued nearby first. All the patients sent by their hospitals are serious patients. The patients are all young people, mostly suffocation, crush injury or various trauma.
Patients come in too fast. They need to check vital signs, pull electrocardiogram and ECG monitoring as soon as possible, then give judgment and affix signs of various colors to the triage of patients. Red signs will be given to those who need immediate on-site rescue of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These patients may have suffered from severe arrhythmia or shock. Yellow signs will be given to those who need to be treated as soon as possible. These patients may be in the early stage of shock and have unstable vital signs. You can put a green sign on it for the time being. These patients are generally aware and can move freely.
Another is that when they arrived at the hospital, they could not detect any vital signs at all, and these patients gave them black signs. They can’t take care of it for the time being.
At that time, there were about 10 [black cards] when they were delivered.
Because there are too many patients, there is no chance to check the patient information, only according to the color of the brand and add a serial number to locate the patient, such as red card number 1 and yellow card number 2. She estimated that half of the patients had undergone cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In order not to hinder the normal rescue, all family members are required to wait outside the rescue room. Later, the police are responsible for maintaining order and registering family members’ information and patient information.
In this rescue, she estimated that at least 60 or 70 doctors from the hospital arrived at the hospital from their homes, from just after 0: 00 on the first day of the New Year until dawn-continuous rescue! My classmate said that she always slept in seconds when she came home from the night shift. This time she was so nervous that she couldn’t sleep when she got home. Later, when she fell asleep, she couldn’t sleep steadily and always woke up.
When we were studying in medical school, the teacher taught us when talking about shock. If there is an emergency, many patients need treatment, which one would you save first? In terms of experience, If a patient shouts with pain, you can leave him alone first, but you should first check those who are indifferent and do not call. Because consciousness is a sensitive indicator of shock, if the patient shouts with pain, it means that he is conscious and normal to external stimuli, indicating that the patient’s circulating blood volume is basically sufficient. However, if the patient is indifferent, Even coma indicates that the blood circulation in the brain is insufficient and there may be shock. The teacher taught us that doctors give priority to which patient to deal with, not to see which patient looks pleasing to the eye, or which patient looks poor, or which patient has done many good things before, but to choose according to the severity of the disease.
For so many years, my classmate and I still remember our teacher’s words. She said: “The first time I met with this kind of situation mentioned by the teacher, it turned out to be a red and yellow sign to call the patient. It’s too miserable!” ]
Yes, in the face of such extreme situations, Doctors don’t have what time to think, what justice and fairness, what human dignity, what human ethics, even have no time to sigh and grieve. What doctors have to do is to rely on the most basic vital signs to give judgment and rescue quickly-almost emptying the instinct of the brain and mechanically rescuing, hoping to save as many as possible!
I hope I will never encounter such a situation in my life.
Moved by the lost life
Just now, my classmate said that her colleague said that the red card No.6 patient did not win Death in the end. This is the 36th victim mentioned in the news. This is a patient who died only during the day. At night, my classmate once participated in the rescue of this patient. She was very sad to hear the news.
Some people seem to be sensitive to numbers such as [35], [36] or [37]. Perhaps only those who experience them will be moved by the lives behind the numbers.
Guarding life, there are also a group of silent doctors
To write this article, Because of the stampede, Many of the clients described their experience of what, I want to report the experience of my classmates. Let’s describe this matter from another angle. In addition to understanding the situation at the scene of the accident, We should also know about other people involved in this tragedy, hoping that we can listen to their voices. In addition to understanding some self-help methods in the face of emergencies, please remember that there are also a group of people called [doctors] who are quietly sticking to their posts.
On the first day of 2015, the group of our college classmates, in addition to their condolences to my classmate, are their feelings about [it’s good to be alive].
May the dead rest in peace and the living treasure it!
