When some friends look in the mirror, they will find some small black spots on their noses, cheeks or foreheads. How do you look at them?
These black spots are probably commonly known as “blackheads”, also known as “blackheads and acne”.
It is formed by sebaceous gland secretions after oxidation or contact with dust at the mouth of hair follicle.
Some people may search the Internet for various tips to remove blackheads, but the results are useless and even aggravate the symptoms.
First, these blackhead removal methods are not recommended.
1. Rough pick and squeeze? No!
Using acne needles to pick out blackheads or squeezing them by hand to remove blackheads cannot uproot blackheads.
If not handled properly, it may also increase the risk of infection and even leave scars.
2. Tear happily? No!
I believe many people have heard of [blackhead sticker]-stick and tear the sticker on the nose. On the torn blackhead sticker, you can see many glued corner bolts, which looks very effective.
However, this effect is only one-off, and blackheads will reappear in a few days. Repeated operation may make pores bulky and the symptoms of blackheads more obvious.
Not only that, it may also damage the stratum corneum of the skin, causing skin sensitivity.
3. Blackhead outlet liquid? No!
The composition of blackhead outlet liquid is often some strong acid and alkali substances, which will corrode pores and cause great damage to skin when used for a long time.
Some friends may have known how to remove blackheads with olive oil. Using the principle of “similar dissolution”, fat-soluble components of oils and fats penetrate into pores, soften blackheads, and finally clean them with warm water.
The effect of this method is relatively weak, and if the cleaning is not in place, it will aggravate blackheads instead.
So, if you want to scientifically remove blackheads, what should you do?
Second, can skin care products be used?
Current medical research has confirmed that products containing salicylic acid may have the effect of dissolving blackheads, and skin care products containing other acids (tartaric acid, azelaic acid, etc.) may also be helpful for removing blackheads.
However, the premise to produce the effect is to stick to the use, and the use effect also varies from person to person.
If you don’t have other facial skin problems, you can try to buy the above over-the-counter skin care products to improve the symptoms of blackheads.
However, if you have recurrent acne, skin sensitivity, frequent occurrence of [dermatitis] and other conditions, then it is not recommended to use these products on your own, and you need to consult a dermatologist for treatment.
Three, safe medication, easy to remove blackheads
In hospitals, medication and acid brushing are common treatment methods for blackheads and acne.
1. Tretinoin drugs for external use
Studies have proved that topical tretinoin drugs can effectively remove blackheads. Retinoin products available in China include tretinoin cream of various concentrations, attapalin and tazarotene.
Some tretinoin creams are over-the-counter drugs, which means they can be purchased without a doctor’s prescription.
At the beginning of use, it may be irritating, manifested as skin redness, tingling, burning sensation, itching, or dryness and peeling. Therefore, it should be used from a low concentration (0.025% is the lowest concentration) and in a small area.
If you feel that the irritation is relatively large, you can wash it off five minutes after applying it, or apply moisturizing lotion before applying ointment.
Light will weaken the efficacy of this kind of medicine. It is necessary to avoid light when using it. It is recommended to use it before going to bed at night.
Special attention should be paid to the fact that pregnancy and pregnancy preparation should not be used, and it is better not to use them during lactation.
2. Oral isotretinoin
Continue to use tretinoin cream for 3 months. If you still feel that the effect is not ideal and want further treatment, it is recommended to consult a professional doctor.
Doctors may take other more powerful methods, such as oral isotretinoin.
Isotretinoin is a prescription drug, which is usually used to treat moderate to severe acne. It is not recommended as the first choice if only blackheads are present. In addition, isotretinoin may have some side effects, so it is necessary to choose the appropriate dose and continuous oral administration under the guidance of a doctor and cannot be used by itself.
Isotretinoin is teratogenic. Women who are preparing for pregnancy and are pregnant are strictly prohibited from taking isotretinoin, and it is not recommended to take isotretinoin during lactation.
Step 3 Brush acid
For particularly stubborn blackheads, doctors may recommend acid brushing treatment.
As high concentration of salicylic acid or tartaric acid will be used for brushing acid, there will be risks in non-standard operation and it needs to be operated in hospital.
In general, For the symptoms of blackheads, If you choose some acid skin care products on the market or use low-concentration tretinoin cream externally, and the improvement effect is not ideal, it is not recommended to continue your ordeal, or it is recommended to consult a professional dermatologist and choose appropriate drug therapy or acid brushing therapy in the hospital under the guidance of the doctor.
