On the eve of the National Day, we received a contribution from a mother who took her baby out.
The mother shared her experience of taking the full moon baby by train and plane, which may help you fill in the [pit] that you may step on.
Our coordinates are Shenzhen, my grandparents are in Inner Mongolia, and my grandparents are in Wuhan. After the baby’s full moon, we took him to visit relatives by train and plane, mindful of the old man’s thoughts.
Make preparations for the early stage
First of all, it is necessary to confirm that the baby is in good physical and mental condition in the near future and can travel far away.
Contact Receiving Station
In advance, I will communicate with my family in the place where the destination is located, and the details of the pick-up. Different from the past, my husband and I went home, it doesn’t matter whether we take the subway or take a taxi. Now we have a baby and carry a suitcase. We are trapped all the way. It is better to have a family pick-up station to help us hold the baby. At the very least, the baby cries and can get off halfway for air.
Items that are not convenient to carry are purchased online in advance.
The baby needs to use diapers every day, but it is not convenient to carry a large number of them with me, so I bought them online in advance and sent them to my grandparents’ and grandparents’ homes so as not to increase the burden on the elderly to go shopping and financially.
Because the weather was relatively hot at that time, the baby needed to take a bath every day. Considering that I would stay for a period of time, I also bought a bathtub online and sent it to the old man’s house together.
Buying tickets is not easy either.
Take the high-speed rail and try to choose seats close to barrier-free carriages (some high-speed rail carriages 5 are barrier-free carriages).
The toilet area on the barrier-free carriage will be relatively large and there will be a diaper table.
The first time I took my baby by train, the diaper table was in carriage 5, we were carriage 8, and I could change diapers back and forth.
The second time, I was not so lucky. I had five carriages in the middle and the seats were near the window. I didn’t want to bother my neighbors and had to hold back on my seats and change diapers.
Therefore, it is relatively convenient to choose a seat near the aisle.
We bought tickets on 12306 app, but we all know that we cannot choose carriages and seats. If time is not in a hurry, we can try several times more and cancel inappropriate orders before paying.
You can try it three times a day until you brush the seat in the right position.
Flying is also important. Not all airlines sell baby tickets, so you should call in advance to ask.
We watched the flight strategy on the Internet and said that the baby cradle would be provided on the plane. My husband contacted me specially. As a result, neither Air China nor HNA did.
Pack one’s luggage
I hold my baby, carry my mommy’s bag, and my husband carries my luggage.
Mummy bag is a must for us to travel. It contains wet diapers, hip cream, cotton towels, wet wipes, quilts, water, thermometers and bottles.
Diapers need to be prepared more wet, especially when flying, flight delays should be taken into account.
When I flew for the first time, I estimated that I would take a bus from home to the airport, plus about 5 hours of waiting and on the plane, and prepared 8 pieces, which I thought was more than enough.
As a result, when waiting for the airport, the plane was delayed for nearly 2 hours, and the baby also pulled two bubbles of excrement unusually. Many wet diapers were checked in with the suitcase, and convenience stores did not sell wet diapers. I really stuck to the last two wet diapers and did not change them easily……
There is a change of clothes for the baby in the suitcase. We have been paying close attention to the weather conditions in the destination and have prepared suitable clothes.
There are also a small amount of wet diapers in the suitcase, bath gel for bathing, moisturizer, bath towel, thin quilt for cover, simethicone, probiotics, vitamin D, small bowls and spoons for drinking water, milk powder and breast pump.
I am exclusively breast-fed, why should I prepare bottles, small bowls and spoons and milk powder? Because when the plane takes off and lands, in order to relieve the discomfort caused to the baby by the change of air pressure, breast milk or water can be fed with a bottle.
Small bowls and spoons are used to flush probiotics for babies. In order to prevent me from being ill and unable to breast-feed, it is inconvenient to buy milk powder, which is also accompanied by Li.
There is only one storage bag for all my luggage with my baby’s father, because there is really no room for it…
There is a long way to go and we cannot relax.
1. Find the right time and go out early.
Because the afternoon is the time for the baby to sleep soundly, I choose to take the bus in the morning and often go out at 6 o’clock.
Use Didi to arrange the car in advance, tidy up and count all luggage at night. Close water, electricity, doors and windows.
Considering taking the baby, moving slowly, we have to arrive at the station or airport in advance.
Generally speaking, taking a taxi is faster and more comfortable than taking public transportation, but not necessarily in big cities…
We were stuck in traffic all the way from the Capital Airport to Beijing West Railway Station. It took us nearly an hour more than expected. It was almost late. The baby couldn’t stand crying. It was better to take the subway.
2. Pay Attention to Limited Access for Infants
Pay attention to whether there is a priority passage for infants. Shenzhen Airport and Railway Station do not have it, but there is a special passage at the Capital Airport, and there are special staff to guide us. The result is half an hour faster.
3. [Protracted War] on Aircraft
The following is the waiting time on the bus or the plane, which is very difficult…
The baby is still young and can’t play with toys. He is afraid of noise and often cries. Holding him in the aisle can relieve him slightly. I also prepared a back towel to wrap him up and keep warm.
It is effective at the full moon, and he can sleep soundly in it. The second month was basically ineffective, weighing 13 kg, and the braces were somewhat restrained to him.
The pacifier has no effect on my baby and is not willing to use it.
It is very important for parents to keep a good state of mind at this time. Success belongs to the persevering.
In addition, all planes provide children’s safety belts, which need to be fastened to babies during take-off and landing.
Problems encountered
1. Babies will also [acclimatize]
In Shenzhen and Wuhan, I can defecate several times a day. After arriving in Inner Mongolia, I can struggle for a whole day. It takes a lot of effort to defecate once and often cry (excluding hunger, supercooling and overheating, etc.).
2. Sleep disorders
First, it is necessary to adapt to the new environment. Second, the old people always want to spend more time with their children. When there is any movement, they wake up with joy. The children yawn and insist on playing. As a result, they often cry after being extremely tired and find it difficult to sleep.
On the road, I became unable to hold and sleep, often holding for several hours in a row. Holding sleep may have intensified at that time…….
3. When you leave, appease the old man.
Before leaving my grandparents’ and grandparents’ homes, do a good job of psychological comfort.
To agree on the date of departure, we should not be too hasty and give the elderly time to accept it.
After all, it is rare to see each other several times a year. The baby’s departure will make them very reluctant to give up.
