The market is full of all kinds of [anti-cancer drugs] and [magic foods], some claiming to prevent cancer, some claiming to treat cancer, and some claiming to improve immunity.
Are these [magic drugs] and foods effective? Today Dr. Clove will reveal the answer.
Garlic
The concept of “eating more garlic can preserve one’s health” has always been very popular. Rumor has it that garlic and [garlic products] (so-called health products made of [garlic extract]) are almost capable of treating all diseases, including cancer prevention, antibacterial, blood lipid reduction, blood pressure reduction and cardiovascular disease prevention.
People who are good at thinking must realize that garlic is one of the most important ingredients in their daily diet. If it is so multifunctional, why are there so many cancers and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases?
In fact, modern medicine is also studying garlic, but the multi-function claimed earlier either failed the experiment or is still controversial.
For example, in 2019, a popular domestic study showed that taking garlic supplements in areas with high incidence of gastric cancer reduced the mortality rate of gastric cancer, and it was also in special malnourished rural areas. Moreover, it was not eating garlic, but the result of supplementing various garlic extracts. It was far from the conclusion that ordinary people eating garlic could help prevent cancer.
Therefore, people who expect to eat garlic to strengthen their bodies should give up their thoughts earlier so as not to be cheated of money and to be healthy.
Panax notoginseng
Panax notoginseng is also called Panax notoginseng. From a botanical point of view, Panax notoginseng and ginseng are [relatives] and belong to the same [family] plant, but not the same [species].
Panax notoginseng does have a long history of use, and some related studies can be found. However, researchers focus on the component called [saponin], and the observation of its effect is also focused on vascular diseases, without mentioning [anticancer].
As for other [health preserving effects], there is even less evidence.
However, it must be stressed that Panax notoginseng should be treated as a drug in both research and clinical diagnosis and treatment.
If some merchants claim that eating Panax notoginseng products can resist cancer and protect health, it is either illegal or they are cheating money by playing a marginal role, everyone should keep their eyes open.
Okra
Okra is a very popular vegetable with many nicknames, such as [green ginseng] [plant gold], and others say okra is [the bane of cancer].
But in the final analysis, okra is still a vegetable, and its nutrients are nothing more than water, vitamins, some trace elements and minerals.
It is true that eating okra is good, but it can resist cancer unless a very special substance is found, but so far, there is no evidence to prove that okra is not an ordinary vegetable.
Some people may ask, does it have no effect on cancer prevention?
Of course, vegetables and fruits must be eaten. Eating enough is good for the body. To some extent, the risk of cancer will be reduced.
However, this sentence needs to be put in another way-eating a variety of vegetables and fruits, with sufficient and balanced nutrition, and only when you are in good health can you [prevent cancer].
It is totally unrealistic to expect to eat only one or two magical [cancer nemesis] to prevent cancer.
Taxus chinensis
Paclitaxel is a very common chemotherapy drug with anti-tumor effect, which has been heard by many cancer patients or their families.
Paclitaxel is a product separated and purified from the bark of gymnosperm Taxus chinensis, so many businesses came up with the idea of Taxus chinensis, made many similar products and claimed to be anti-cancer.
However, the taxol content in yew bark is quite low. Data show that only about 13.6 kg of bark can produce 1 gram of taxol. In this way, it takes about 3-12 yew trees over 100 years to treat an ovarian cancer patient clinically.
Let’s think about it, even if so many trees are soaked in bark water for three meals a day, even if they can drink [work] one day, their bellies will have burst long ago.
Is there anything really anticancer?
At this stage, there are very few drugs (professionally called [tumor chemical intervention]) with definite anti-cancer effects, and only:
- Aspirin (used to prevent certain colorectal cancers); Tamoxifen (used to prevent certain breast cancers).
At present, they can only be used for prevention and treatment of special groups. Drugs cannot casually claim to prevent and treat cancer, let alone food.
The so-called [anti-cancer or anti-cancer health care products] are actually more conceptual hype, and they simply cannot play the role of anti-cancer and anti-cancer in what.
You can eat it as food or as a nutritional supplement for the nutritionally deficient (but not more).
Is there any reliable anti-cancer method?
Based on research evidence, the World Cancer Research Foundation and the American Cancer Institute have put forward some clear and effective cancer prevention measures. In the 2018 edition of “Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Cancer Prevention”, they have put forward 10 suggestions for cancer prevention:

This so-called tonic is all kinds of so-called [anti-cancer food] and [anti-cancer health care products].
